The peculiarity of the gastronomy of this parish, traditionally closely linked to pork products, led the Parish Council to organize, for the first time in 2010, the "Gastronomic Show of Agricultural Products of Água Retorta". Since then, this event has been held annually and, combining the gastronomic and cultural aspects, attracts hundreds of visitors to what is known as "the most picturesque parish of the Azores".
